Not only have we got an excellent season of ballet tv to look forward to, but Moira Shearer, belle of the 1940s cinema, will be returning to the big screen in the restoration of The Red Shoes the classic film recorded as Martin Scorseses all time favourite.
The film re-opened at cinemas on Friday 11 December, and will be showcasing at the Electric cinema from December 18-24 in a series celebrating the cinemas centenary in December.
Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburgers masterpiece follows the life of ballet dancer (Shearer) who falls in love with a composer to tragic consequences.
